Egyptian Hieroglyphics Pendant

The cartouche is an oblong enclosure with a vertical line at one end, indicating that the text enclosed is a royal name. It derived from a shen ring which was a circular enclosure with a vertical line at one end, it was the egyptian symbol for eternity and infinity. So of course egyptian royalty couldnt resist stretching it and adding their name in. This cartouche is surrounded by ankhs, the egyptian symbol for life and death. Size 4.5cm long by 1.5cm wide. Supplied on a tough waxed cord complete with a presentation case and descriptive card.
